She Hulk’s Getting A Show

Marvel Comics character ‘She Hulk’ is getting her own series.

She Hulk is a popular Marvel character, a fan favorite among many. Her real name is Jennifer Walters, an attorney. Like her cousin, Bruce Banner she was also exposed to gamma rays, only instead of being able to change from human to green behemoth, somewhat at will like Bruce, she instead is always in her Hulk for. Except she’s only a little bit larger than Hulk, and is able to maintain her human personality, and intelligence. Sorta like what the MCU recently did to Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. She is also incapable of turning back into her human form.

It’s recently been confirmed that She Hulk will get her first offical live action debut, as a Disney Plus series. Though this was not an official announcement, all the stars seem alligned for this to be about as official as can possibly be, without being official. Here’s what we know so far:

Actress Tatiana Maylany, who appears to be most famous for her role in TV show ‘Orphan Black’. Previous sources seemed to believe that ‘GLOW’ actress Alison Brie would portay the comic book her, this seems to no longer be the case. Though there’s still the possibility she will play a supporting character, much like Rosaro Dawson in the Netflix Marvel shows, none of this has been confirmed.

The director has also been chosen, Kat Coiro, who based off her ImdB page, hops from one TV show to another, directig a few episodes, than leaving.

My Thoughts:

Since I personally have not seen any work from either the director, or actress I genuinally can’t say anything about how that would come over. I can however say, that She Hulk, if handled properly could be a decent series, likely spanning over multiple seasons. The very concept of She-Hulk in nature, is basically a more aggressive, female version of Professor Hulk. Which could be interesting, or it might be terrible. Either way, I’m sure She-Hulk fans around the world are very excited about the announcement.

PS, happy birthday to Viggo Mortensen.
